About Holy Chow
I never thought I would be an author. My husband, Mike, wanted me to write down his
favorite recipes because my family loved them so much. The most difficult part was
having to measure out all the ingredients. I have never measured anything – just a
little of this and a little of that. Since I have been the chef at the Cathedral, the priest
and bishops I have cooked for have really been a blessing in my life and I have loved
every one of them. We wanted the book to be particularly Catholic. So we added a
Bible quote with each recipe and used rosary icons to have fun with the difficulty of
each recipe. The book and website officially started on the feast of the Immaculate
Conception December 8th 2009. She has definitely blessed this endeavor. With all the
demonstrations and presentations I have been blessed to give with this book, my main
message is to eat at home with your family. This book shows you it is easy and economical
to make a quick meal that tastes great for your family and friends.

About Holy Chow Gluten-Free
We certainly didn’t think we would
do a second book, but we seem to know of more and more people who either choose
to, or must, eat gluten free. Since I
have been cooking for Archbishop Schnurr who must eat gluten free, I have
learned a lot about gluten free foods and have made some dinners he especially
likes. This experience has led me to
author another book for those looking to eat gluten free. Since the first book’s name has been so
popular we decided to go with Holy Chow Gluten Free. One of my “new” friends I have been blessed
to meet because of this endeavor is Rita Heikenfeld who donated a complete
chapter on desserts since I really don’t do desserts myself. The official kick off book signing event at
the Cathedral for this book is December 8th, 2013. God is Good!
